This is an unknown pearl in the Persian Gulf, in the South of Iran, with an area of 90.457 sqm².
No direct entry visa, no tax is required for Kish Island!.
It is a coral island with azure water and beautiful white large shores & beach and many eye-catching sights, which makes it a unique place for leisure, sport and relaxation.
In comparison to its size, Kish has the most largest shores & beach in the World.
The corals are one of the most beautiful features of Kish, which can be seen either by scuba diving or from a glass bottomed boat.
Kish Island creates many natural attractions due to the not only virgin and unspoiled nature with many types of rare trees from ancient time, which were brought to the island by the Portuguese ( some of them such as the magnificent Banyan trees, Pins-Christi are about 600 years old), but also through its many palm groves planted on the island.
According to the “KFZO”, there are about 3000 Palm Groves and 3000 Coconut trees, which were successfully replanted in an area of 45 hectares in the Western part of island in 1994, with thousands of additional Palms at the several boulevards on island, which has given the Kish a unique charm and beauty in the Persian Gulf.
There are also several parks on island such as Delphin Park, Cactus Park, Honor Park, Golestan Park etc. situated along the azure water of the Gulf.
One of the most beautiful parks in the Middle East is the Dolphin Park in an area of one million sq2 with thousands of palms, various rare plants and dolphins & mammals gives the visitors a unique impression.
Kish island is host to about 116 types of birds living on the “Western Coast” an optimal area for “bird -watching”.
Furthermore cultural sight-seeing on the island includes of ancient city Harireh designated as cultural heritage, Qanat (a subterranean aqueduct tunnel to transfer the water 17 meters below the earth’s surface and 3000 meter long) and Payab; an underground formerly water reservoir, with their traditional teahouse and restaurant, and finally a Greek ship of 7061 gross tons, 447 ft, 6 ins in length, which was built in 1943 by William Hamilton & Co. Ltd. Scotland, and which after a sea voyage in 1966 bound for Greece ran aground in Kish.
Watching the sunset in the azure waters of the Gulf from the huge Greek ship, is an everlasting memory.
There are some international university centers on the island such as Kish University including “Sharif University of Technique, which offers joint programs with Monash University of Australia, and Multimedia University of Malaysia, and also several colleges and centers of Tehran and Shiraz Universities.
The Auditorium of Kish International Forum Center (KIFC) covering 10.000 sq² includes 900 seats equipped with state of the art, audio-video systems, in order to host large domestic and international meetings.
In addition, a 5400 sq2 City Hall has recently been built next to the KIFC with a capacity of 1800 persons, in line with expanding spaces on the island used for social, cultural events and also for smaller exhibitions.
Accommodation facilities on the Kish island are provided through 22 hotels, 17 hotels apartments, and 6 boarding houses with a capacity of about 8200 beds.
The International Airport of Kish is one of the modern and well equipped airports and handles about 60 domestic and 10 foreign flights daily.
There are several daily flights from Dubai, Doha (Qatar) and also from different cities in Iran.
